Animal Health Canada is pleased to welcome Tia Landry to AHC as our new Leadership Team Coordinator!
Tia brings nearly a decade of experience in the swine industry, with expertise in animal health and welfare, on-farm operations, training and program development. A Professional Agrologist and graduate of the University of Manitoba, she also brings experience across multiple livestock sectors, wildlife and zoo animal care.
In her role with Animal Health Canada, Tia looks forward to contributing her expertise to advancing national animal health priorities and supporting collaboration across sectors. •

Canada Pork Adds New Position
Canada Pork is pleased to welcome Sonja Frohberg as Senior Vice President, Policy & Market Development at Canada Pork – Porc Canada.
Sonja brings over 18 years of experience in the Government of Canada, most recently serving as Canada’s Agricultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Canada in Washington, D.C., where she represented Canada’s meat and livestock sector.
Throughout her career, she has held senior policy and technical roles across key departments, including Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. Her expertise spans market access, trade negotiations, international advocacy, small business policy, and venture capital.
Sonja holds degrees in Law and Political Science from Carleton University.
In her new role, Sonja will be focused on leading Canada Pork’s policy and market development initiatives, helping drive success for Canada’s pork industry both domestically and internationally. •

Alberta Pork Welcomes
New Board Member

Tessy Weatherald grew up on an 850-sow farrow-to-finish operation-working alongside her family full-time for the past six years. She holds two Agricultural Sciences diplomas from Lethbridge College, specializing in Animal Science and Plant and Soil Science.
Tessy is passionate about agriculture and industry outreach, also working as an evaluator for the Green Certificate Program and volunteers at the Calgary Stampede Swine Display. Tessy also served on the Alberta Paint Horse Club for eight years and is looking forward to working with Alberta Pork to promote and advocate for the Alberta Pork industry. •

Western Hog Exchange Welcomes New GM
Michael Greba is the new General Manager of the Western Hog Exchange, he follows previous GM Brent Bushell and interim GM Glenn Kropp.
Greba, looks forward to taking the helm at WHE. He comes from a previous agriculture background in various types of livestock, a packing plant, a specialty food packaging and is excited to engage in the hog sector. •

Jefo, a global leader in precision intestinal nutrition solutions for animals, is reinforcing its commitment to the Canadian monogastric sector through the appointment of David Chateauvert as Senior Monogastric Territory Manager – Ontario and Manitoba.
With over 30 years of experience in the animal health industry and a strong career path within international organizations, David has developed an in-depth understanding of various production systems and the current challenges facing the sector, both in Canada and abroad, while building long-standing, trusted relationships with veterinarians, nutritionists, and producers. •

Russ Penner previously served as Manitoba Business Development Representative for over 8 years, where he played a key role in expanding customer relationships, and supported business growth throughout the province. •

Endovac Expands Team
Endovac Animal Health is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Rachel Bardot as Swine Technical Services Veterinarian.
Dr. Bardot earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in Veterinary Diagnostic Medicine and Pathobiology from Kansas State University. She will support product development and customer success by providing expert technical guidance to producers, veterinarians and Endovac’s internal teams.

Supports Hands on Learning

Recently Manitoba Pork together with HyLife were proud to support another hands-on learning opportunity at Assiniboine College, where four talented students took part in a butchery competition focused on whole-animal utilization and value-added pork products.
Each competitor selected their own side of pork and demonstrated their butchery skills by breaking it down into a variety of cuts, then transforming those cuts into creative, ready-to-cook dishes. From precision knife work to product innovation, the competition showcased the craftsmanship, knowledge, and versatility involved in pork production and preparation. •
